Yesterday we met Janelle and Sara at Uncle Thane's to get our taxes done. My job was to keep the little ones occupied while everyone else got down to business. I had fun. We went to a hardware store down the street. Actually, calling this place a hardware store wouldn't be correct. It has pretty nearly everything in it. I needed some buttons so we went up the stairs to the fabric and yarn part of the store. They had buttons, but not buttons on a card, buttons in a box, individual buttons that you can sort through and see if they have any matching ones. For the next hour the little ones and I sorted through piles of buttons. They had the best time, choosing their favorites and making piles of the different buttons. We kept at it until they both realized they were really hungry. What a fun day we had. And, I found the buttons I needed, seven of them.

One of my FAVORITE things to do when I was little was go through the button box. I loved the shapes, colors and variety, the way they felt and sounded as I ran my fingers through them.
I remember the days that Soda had Ben Franklin, and I would do just that while my mom was doing her thing in the fabric section of the store! It's nice (and fun) to know that even in this technological world we live in now days, that our kids can still enjoy things that we did as kids.
That sounds like fun, what treasures you can find!
