One Trillion

During the election one candidate attacked President Bush because of all the money he was spending, billions of dollars. Well, do you have any idea what a trillion looks like, compared to a billion? Go to this web site. And then send it to everyone you know. We must stop this and we must do it now.

The Parable of the Talents

After spending Friday with Sara and my mom, Sara and I drove to a women's conference with Janelle. One speaker talked about the parable of the talents. The master gave five talents to one, two to another and one to the last. But no where does the master get cross at the two that used their talents. He praises both of them for doing something useful. Even though the servant with two talents didn't get five, he still did something useful. I got to thinking about that. Maybe the people I get peeved at are doing the best they can with their talents and instead of being peeved, we should be more like the Master and praise the servant for doing the best possible. And maybe instead of griping at ourselves, we should stop and ask the Lord how we can do better with the talents we have been given instead of burying them in the ground.

Buttons, buttons and more buttons

Yesterday we met Janelle and Sara at Uncle Thane's to get our taxes done. My job was to keep the little ones occupied while everyone else got down to business. I had fun. We went to a hardware store down the street. Actually, calling this place a hardware store wouldn't be correct. It has pretty nearly everything in it. I needed some buttons so we went up the stairs to the fabric and yarn part of the store. They had buttons, but not buttons on a card, buttons in a box, individual buttons that you can sort through and see if they have any matching ones. For the next hour the little ones and I sorted through piles of buttons. They had the best time, choosing their favorites and making piles of the different buttons. We kept at it until they both realized they were really hungry. What a fun day we had. And, I found the buttons I needed, seven of them.
