We are so excited!

The news is official, on January 30th Sara Catherine Winward became engaged to Scott Chadwick!  We are so happy for them.  Scott is from Utah.  He is attending USU in mechanical engineering.  He went to Italy on his mission, I foresee help in family history here, he plays in the band and enjoys dancing.  We haven't met his family yet, but if they are as nice as he is, I am sure we will all get along fine.  The wedding is in May so we have a lot to do.  The best part is they are so much in love that it just shines out of their eyes.  We are just happy.

I just found an old friend

Chrissy got online and found my friend Jan from when I was in 5th and 6th grade.  Now how fun is that.  These pictures are from our open house when Calvin and I were married.  Jan and Terry are in the first photo, the second is Carla, Me, Jan and Chrissy.  How exciting!

Janelle and Christopher have moved

Daniel, Calvin and I went to help Janelle and Christopher move yesterday.  The ward members came and helped and Jason came by too.  He and I struggled with getting things downstairs as both of us have knees that are not stair friendly.  Hopefully his will heal soon.  He came up about three steps and I went down about three steps and we got the boxes down.  Daniel helped Christopher install the washer and the dryer and with Christopher and Calvin hauled a lot of boxes out and then in again.  Even the little ones helped.  We didn't get everything done, but at least now it is manageable.

Weather is crazy

Today the wind is blowing, the snow is melting, the air is nearly warm. The snow on the front lawn is nearly gone and there is a huge puddle out front. Calvin, Bruce and Clark have been outside trying to unclog the drainage ditch, but the warmth hasn't gotten that deep yet. This is our January thaw. It won't last long, but I think it has a purpose, to let us know that there is hope, that winter will not last forever.

There are times I am in winter, when it is cold and dark and deep and I am not sure that I am going to find my way out. And then God gives me that little spring thaw to help me get through the hard times, just enough to strengthen my faith and help me keep going.
